§ 31.43 CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
   (A)   There is hereby created the nonelected city office of Code Enforcement Officer.
   (B)   The Code Enforcement Officer shall have the following duties:
      (1)   Enforce all city ordinances, including business licenses, compensation and tax;
      (2)   Direct school traffic at LaGrange Elementary School;
      (3)   Perform patrol work of average difficulty;
      (4)   Issue citations for violations;
      (5)   Present violations to Code Enforcement Board for enforcement;
      (6)   Be responsible for assisting in traffic control, making accident reports, enforcing moving, non-moving, parking and other violations by the issuance of citations and similar type duties;
      (7)   Obey all legal orders of the Chief of Police, or ranking officer and shall in general perform all duties assigned to him or her by the Chief of Police or ranking officer or by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and
      (8)   Such other powers and duties as may be prescribed by the City Council, the Mayor, by statute or by the personnel policy passed by the City Council.
   (C)   The Ordinance Enforcement Officer shall take the oath set forth in § 228 of the Kentucky Constitution.
   (D)   The Ordinance Enforcement Officer shall be paid an annual salary as passed in the annual budget ordinance for the city.
