§ 31.38 CITY ATTORNEY.
   (A)   There is hereby established the office of City Attorney.
   (B)   The City Attorney shall be appointed for a two-year term by recommendation of the Mayor with approval of the City Council. The Mayor shall recommend a practicing attorney within Oldham County for appointment. The City Attorney must be a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and either a resident of the city or Oldham County. The City Attorney shall attend all meetings of the City Council, advise it on all matters of litigation or legal proceedings, and perform any other duties of a legal nature required by the Mayor or City Council.
   (C)   The City Attorney shall take the oath set forth in § 228 of the Kentucky Constitution.
   (D)   No bond is required of the City Attorney.
   (E)   The City Attorney shall be paid an annual salary as passed in the annual budget ordinance for the city.
