151.11 VACATIONS.
   All full-time employees shall receive vacation based on the following schedule:
   Service Time (based on employee's anniversary date)
   (a)   Eighty (80) hours upon completion of one (1) year of service through completion of five (5) years of continuous service.
   (b)   Eight (8) additional hours for each year of service after five (5) years to a maximum of one hundred and sixty hours (160) hours.
   (c)   Forty (40) additional hours for twenty-five (25) or more years of service for a maximum of two hundred (200) hours.
   Vacation time must be used in the year following the year in which it is earned. Utilized vacation time shall be deducted from an employee's accumulated vacation time in increments of not less than one-quarter (1/4) hour. In the absence of any exception granted hereunder, there shall be no carryover of accumulated vacation time. Accrued vacation time shall be payable in a lump sum upon the death or termination of any employee at the time of such death or termination. All vacation requests must be approved by the employee's immediate supervisor.
   Any employee may, for good cause, make written application of his or her immediate supervisor for a carryover extension not to exceed six (6) months who shall immediately transmit a copy of such application to the Village Mayor. The Village Mayor shall, within thirty (30) days of receipt of said application, grant or deny such application and provide written notice thereof to the applicant. "Good cause" shall include but not be limited to circumstances under which the requesting employee is reasonable unable to utilize his or her vacation time within the time period prescribed herein and/or any other circumstance where, in the determination of the Mayor, the interests of the Village would be served by the granting of the extension requested.
