(a) Whoever violates any provision of this chapter, or fails to comply therewith or with any written notice or written order issued hereunder, or whoever refuses to permit lawful entry by the Building Inspector or other Village department head or their representatives, or whoever interferes with, obstructs or hinders such Building Inspector while attempting to make a lawful inspection or repair of any Premises, shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor for each offense. Each day any such violation of this chapter is committed, continued or permitted shall constitute a separate offense.
(b) The imposition of any penalty shall not preclude the Village Solicitor, upon the request of Council, from instituting an appropriate action or proceeding in a court of proper jurisdiction to prevent an unlawful repair or maintenance; or to restrain, correct or abate a violation, or to prevent to occupancy of a building, structure or premises, or to require compliance with the provisions of this chapter, or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations, or the orders or determinations of the Building Inspector.
