(A) Massage therapy license applications shall be reviewed by the Police Department, who shall furnish written recommendations to the La Crescent City Council.
(B) A massage therapist license is considered active upon the receipt of a signed, completed application form and all applicable fees have been paid. The license is considered active at the time of application and contingent upon a successful background check to be conducted by the La Crescent Police Department. This activation is temporary until the activation an be reviewed by the La Crescent City Council. The background check conducted by the Police Department will be conducted in a timely manner and notification will be made to the applicant if the license will not be granted. Ineligible applicant license fees will not be refunded by the City of La Crescent.
