The Town Marshal shall be appointed by the Town Council on January 1 at 12 noon of each year hereafter to serve at the pleasure of the Board. He or she shall be an American citizen. The Town Marshal shall be compensated as provided by ordinance of the Town Council. The Town Marshal shall execute the orders of the Town Board and enforce the ordinances of the Town of Kouts and the laws of the state. A penal sum of $1,000 shall be deposited with the Clerk- Treasurer of the Town Council on behalf of the Town Marshal.
