5-7-5: CONTAINER REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Specifications: It shall be the duty of every owner or occupant of any place where solid waste is created or accumulated to at all times keep or cause to be kept portable approved containers for the deposit therein of such solid waste and, except as otherwise provided, to deposit or cause to be deposited all solid waste therein.
      1.   Leakproof: The containers shall be watertight and not easily corrodible, rodent and flyproof and shall be equipped with handles and a close fitting lid.
      2.   Size: Such containers shall not be less than ten (10) gallons capacity nor more than thirty two (32) gallons capacity and limited to fifty (50) pounds in weight when filled.
      3.   Metal Containers: The containers, if metal, shall be of not less than twenty eight (28) gauge metal or the equivalent, and be manufactured so as to prevent leaks.
      4.   Lids: Lids shall not be removed except when necessary to place solid waste in such container to take the same therefrom.
      5.   Sanitary Condition: All owners and/or occupants shall keep all containers in a sanitary condition, with both the inside and outside thereof kept free and clear of all accumulating grease and decomposing materials and so that no odor nuisance shall exist.
   B.   Placement: All solid waste containers shall be placed for collection in a place accessible to the collector or at such place as may be agreed upon between the owner and tie city. (Ord. 14, 5-7-1963; amd. 2005 Code)
