5-1-7: RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT:
It shall be unlawful for any person:
   A.   To ride or operate or cause to be operated any skateboard, roller skates, rollerblades, human powered scooters, go-carts, or other toy vehicles on any sidewalk along Main Street between A Street and Second Avenue within the City.
   B.   Bicycles shall not be operated on any sidewalk along Main Street between A Street and Second Avenue in the City, and shall not be parked on any sidewalks in such a manner as to obstruct or impede the movement of pedestrians, motor vehicles, or other vehicles, or to cause damages to trees, shrubs, other plants, or other property. Bicycles may be operated pursuant to all laws applicable to motor vehicles on all City streets and public parking lots.
   C.   Nothing in this section shall prohibit or be construed to prohibit:
      1.   The Mayor and/or City Council from allowing bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, rollerblades, or human powered scooters, go-carts, or other toy vehicles to serve as exhibits or demonstrations. Such exhibits or demonstrations shall be by permit only.
      2.   The use of bicycles on sidewalks for law enforcement purposes by any law enforcement agency.
   D.   A violation of this section shall constitute an infraction, which shall be punished in accordance with Idaho Code 49-1503 and Idaho infraction rule 9. (Ord. 126, 4-23-1997)
