(A) It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having the control of any real estate abutting on any public street or right-of- way to construct or maintain awnings, marquees, or signs of any character so that the same shall be elevated less than seven feet in the clear at their lowest point, above the grade of the right-of-way.
(B) All awnings, marquees, or signs projecting over any public right-of-way shall be supported without posts or other obstructions extending to the right-of-way, but shall be supported by an iron framework of good engineering design, and attached firmly to the building, so as to leave the public right-of-way unobstructed.
