Authorized personnel of the Fire Department may, at all reasonable hours, enter any structure (except one- and two-family dwellings) within the city for the purpose of conducting inspections or investigations pursuant to this chapter. The right to enter shall extend to new structures under construction as well as to existing structures being renovated or remodeled. An inspector or investigator may be required by the owner or occupant to produce satisfactory proof of authority or identity. If an inspector or investigator is denied access, the Fire Inspector may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction for an order allowing inspection.
