As required by I.C. § 9-22-1-30, it shall be the policy of the city that the disposition of abandoned vehicles processed by the city shall, with the exception of vehicles disposed of through immediate transport to an automobile scrap yard, be through sale by the Bureau. The city may enter into contracts which make the processing of abandoned vehicles through the Bureau an administrative responsibility of the entity with whom the city enters into a contract.
