It is the purpose of this chapter to provide for the removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles. The city hereby in all respects adopts the powers and procedures for the removal, storage, disposal and impoundment of abandoned vehicles and parts as set forth in I.C. § 9-22-1 and as those provisions may from time to time be amended by the legislature. In addition, the city reserves its rights under Home Rule to supplement or clarify state law and procedure to effectuate the purposes of this chapter.
