(A) This section shall be known as the "Hook Up of Connection Charge Ordinance for Water District No. 2", and any subdivisions thereof. The purpose of this section is to establish minimum and uniform costs and charges for the privilege of hooking up, or tapping into the township water supply system, and to promote the public health, safety, morals and general welfare and safety of the public and the protection of the water supply system of the township.
(B) The legal description of Water Extension No. 2, Special Assessment District, shall be as described in the resolution confirming the special assessment roll, dated 10-7-1991, and any appendix or exhibit attached to the resolution.
(C) The following cost connection charges or tap-in fees shall be made for a water service connection to the township water supply system known and referred to as Water Supply District No. 2, and any subdivisions thereof.
(1) Every property to be hooked, connected or tapped in, within the special assessment district shall be charged $29.50 per lineal front foot, for a minimum of 100 front feet, and for a maximum of 200 front feet in residential and agricultural land use classifications, with corner lots to be charged on the basis of the longest dimension, plus ten feet, and subject to all other provisions set forth in this section. Every property or parcel of land to which water connection is made shall pay an additional charge of $1,000 per single-family residential unit, as a single-family residential charge equivalent and every other parcel of property shall pay equivalency charges computed as follows.

(2) The charges to be computed on the basis hereinbefore set forth shall apply to all parcels of land split from a previously assessed parcel, or to a parcel that was not previously assessed, or to any parcel that was in Pub. Act 116 of 1974, that was not fully and completely assessed, for a water line connection in the assessment roll or rolls of the water supply district as previously confirmed by or in the assessment rolls for the water supply district confirmed on 10-7-1991. It has been determined that the minimum sum for a tap-in fee shall be paid, or an agreement to pay that minimum sum shall be made before a tap in to the water supply system is made, so as to pay for the water supply facilities constructed to service the area commonly known as Water Supply District No. 2. The township has determined that the minimum basic connection or tap-in fee shall be as set forth in this section, for the privilege of tapping in, or connecting to the water supply system, subject to the equivalency charges as set forth in this section, or any amendment thereto. In addition to the foregoing enumeration of costs, and charges for the tap-in privilege to the water supply system, interest shall be charged on any unpaid part or portion of the tap-in fee at the rate of 6% per annum. In addition thereto an inflation factor of 5% per year shall be added to the minimum tap-in fee as determined in this section, computed from 11-1-1991, to the date of payment of the minimum tap-in fee, or until a contract is executed between the property owner and the township, agreeing to pay the minimum tap-in fee.
(D) This section shall be given immediate effect, upon the publication thereof, inasmuch as it pertains to the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the township.
