§ 93.06 DELINQUENT FINES AND FEES.
If any fine(s), cost(s) and/or service fee(s) due to the township pursuant to this chapter shall remain unpaid for a period of 30 days or more after the date of the mailing of the invoice/bill for said fine(s), cost(s) and/or service fee(s) to the responsible party/parties, the amount due shall thereafter accrue interest at the rate of 6% per month from the date of the false alarm to which the invoice/bill applies. The township may seek to collect said fine(s), cost(s), and/or service fee(s) by a suit at law or in equity, or the township may assess the amount of the invoice/bill against the premises on which the false alarm occurred. Such assessment shall constitute a lien upon the premises on which the false alarm occurred and may be billed and collected in the same manner as property taxes pursuant to the General Property Tax Act, Act 206 of 1893. Where a contractor(s) or monitoring company(ies) has failed to pay to the township any amount invoiced/billed to said contractor(s) or monitoring company(ies) pursuant to this chapter, the township may initiate a suit in law or in equity against said contractor and/or monitoring company(ies) for the amount of the invoice, plus any additional relief, damages, fees, or costs to which the township may be entitled.
