§ 1222.07  PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC AND CULTURAL FEATURES.
   The historic and cultural features included in the Environmental Overlay Districts are intended to be preserved to the extent possible for the following reasons.
   (a)   The historic zone encompassing the original settlement area of Kirtland contains a number of historically and culturally significant sites and places, including the nationally registered Kirtland Temple. The architectural character and the historic heritage of the District should be preserved and protected to the extent possible in all intended development within the District.
   (b)   The individual sites and places, including the nationally registered Old South Church, have also been identified as important to the historic and cultural heritage of the community. The architectural character and the historic heritage of these individual sites and places should be preserved and protected to the extent possible in all intended development.
