(A) The officers and members of the police force of the town possess all the common-law and statutory powers of constables, except in relation to the service of civil process. Any warrant of search or arrest, issued by any judge, may be executed in any part thereof by any member of the police force, subject to the laws governing arrest and bail.
(B) The members of the police force may serve process within the town. They shall arrest, without process, all persons who within view violate the statutes of the state. The members of the police force shall take the violators before the court having jurisdiction of the offense and retain them in custody until the cause of such arrest has been investigated. The members of the police force shall suppress all breaches of the peace within their knowledge, and may call to their aid the power of the town, and pursue and commit to jail persons guilty of violation of the statutes of this state.
(C) They shall serve all process issued by the Town Council.
(D) Police officers shall enforce town ordinances in accordance with I.C. 36-1-6.
