§ 91.15 ABATEMENT OF NUISANCES.
Whenever any nuisances whatever shall be found upon any premises or elsewhere in the village, the Chief of Police, Village President or any Health Officer of the village is hereby authorized to cause the same to be summarily abated in such manner as he or she may direct, and for the purpose of abating any such nuisance, the officer is hereby to enter any store, stable, house or building and to enter upon any lot or premises, and to cause all stagnant waters thereon to be drained off, and pools, sinks or low places or ground to be cleaned, filled up or otherwise improved; to cause all dead animals or other noxious or offensive substances to be buried or removed beyond the village limits. Upon the nuisances being abated by the officer, a suit may be instituted in any court of competent jurisdiction in the name of the village against the owner or occupant of the premises upon which the nuisance may have been found, or the author of the nuisance, for the recovery of expenses together with the costs of suit, which may be recovered in such actions.
