All permanent full-time village employees shall reside within a 15-mile radius of the village limits, except village department heads, who shall reside within the village limits, and except for village police officers, who shall reside within a 35-mile radius of the village limits. This section shall not apply to employees until they have successfully completed their probationary period. The Village Board may in its discretion grant no more than two 6-month extensions to an employee in the case of hardship.
