§ 31.31 DUTIES.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of the Village Attorney to act as legal advisor of the Board of Trustees and all of the village officers, and the Board of Trustees may require his or her opinion in writing upon any question of law arising in connection with any village affairs, or upon any suit, claim or demand in which the village is or may become interested.
   (B)   It shall be his or her duty to prosecute all suits for the recovery of fines, forfeitures and penalties which may be brought before the proper officer or any court, by or against the village or any of its officers on account of their official acts; and he or she shall give his or her personal attention at court where any suit to which the village is interested may be pending, when called upon by the Board of Trustees or by the Chief of Police for that purpose.
   (C)   The Village Attorney shall attend all regular meetings of the Board of Trustees, and all special meetings when requested to do so by the President of the Board of Trustees or the Village Clerk, and shall draft all ordinances, bonds, contracts, leases, conveyances, and other instruments of writing required for the business of the village, examine and inspect tax and assessment rolls and all proceedings in reference to the assessment and collections of taxes and assessments.
   (D)   He or she shall perform such other professional services incident to his or her office as may in any case be required by the Board of Trustees or the Village President.
