What is cross-connection control? Cross-connection control is the use of in-line testable backflow prevention assemblies, non-in-line testable backflow prevention devices, methods and procedures to prevent contamination of a potable water supply. A cross-connection is any physical connection between two otherwise separate piping systems, one of which contains potable water and the other, water of unknown or questionable quality.
