Before the demolition of any structure is begun, a verified application containing a statement of the facts in relation thereto and to the ownership and location thereof shall be submitted by the owner, or the owner’s authorized representative, to the Building Inspector and a written permit for the operation shall be obtained from the Building Inspector. The permit shall expire, by limitation, two months from the date of its issuance if the work authorized has not commenced. The Building Inspector shall be given not less than 24 hours’ notice before the demolition of the structure may be begun.
