§ 111.17 SALE OF UNINSPECTED MEAT PROHIBITED.
   (A)   Under G.S. § 106-549.31, the State Compulsory Meat Inspection Law and under the Federal Meat Inspection Act, no uninspected meat may be sold in the city to anyone.
      (1)   Fresh pork slaughtered or butchered at home or on the farm may not be sold to the public. This includes ribs, backbones, sausage, tenderloin, fresh ham or shoulder or side meat.
      (2)   Hams, shoulders and side meat from hogs slaughtered or butchered at home or on the farm, whether fresh, salted or country cured, may not be sold to the public.
      (3)   Lard and cracklings cooked or rendered out at home or on the farm may not be sold to the public.
      (4)   Beef, veal or lamb butchered at home or on the farm may not be sold to the public.
   (B)   All persons selling meats at the community market shall show a receipt of slaughter from an inspected slaughter house; all meats shall show a mark of inspection or a label or carton bearing a mark of inspection.
   (C)   All uninspected meats found at the community market will be placed under detention and disposed of in agreement to G.S. §§ 106-549.31 and 106-549.33, the State Compulsory Meat Inspection Law.
