§ 90.125 PROTECTION OF OPENINGS.
   (A)   No person making an excavation in the street or sidewalk, for any purpose whatsoever, shall fail to cover the excavation with planks or place ropes with red flags along the same three feet from the ground, or shall fail to place a sufficient number of red lights and barricades around the excavations before dark, and to keep the lights burning all night every night the excavation remains open.
   (B)   Excavations in or near any street or sidewalk shall be securely covered or closed at all times when persons are not at work therein.
