All new sidewalk material shall be class B concrete. The minimum width shall be five feet with a marking joint each five feet and an expansion joint with one-half inch expansion joint materials placed each 40 feet. Additional expansion joint material shall be used in every place where the walk joins curb and gutter, walls, buildings and the like. No trees, hydrants, electric or telephone poles or other obstructions shall be placed in the sidewalks.
