§ 90.003 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CITY. The City of Kings Mountain.
   CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER. The standard curb and gutter approved by the City Engineer.
   CONSTRUCTION. Major work done in widening, placing of concrete curb and gutter, surfacing or resurfacing the entire street width.
   DITCH LINE. The part of the roadway approximately four feet wide on one or both sides of the road, graded and sloped to carry off storm waters.
   MAINTENANCE. Minor repairs to side ditches, pipe lines, potholes and shoulders.
   MAY. The act referred to is permissive.
   PERSON. Any individual, firm, company, association, society, corporation or group.
   PRIVATE DITCHES. Any ditch which originates on private property or exists outside of an accepted right-of-way or storm drainage easement.
   PRIVATE ENTRANCE. A driveway across private property to one or more pieces of property and for which no public dedication exists.
   RIGHT-OF-WAY. A strip of land dedicated to the city for public use.
   SHALL. The act referred to is mandatory.
   SHOULDER. The part of the roadway between the edge of the pavement and where the ditch slope begins.
   STREET. A strip of land dedicated to the city which has been improved to meet the minimum street standards and has been accepted for maintenance by the City Council.
