For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GOLF CART. A low speed vehicle, as is more defined by G.S. § 20-4.01(12a), which by that definition is a vehicle designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes, and that is not capable of exceeding speeds of 20 mph.
