§ 73.04 PARKING PROHIBITED IN CERTAIN PLACES.
   No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, excepting emergency vehicles and personnel, in any of the following places:
   (A)   On any sidewalk;
   (B)   Within an intersection;
   (C)   On a crosswalk, or within 20 feet of any crosswalk;
   (D)   Within 35 feet of any flashing beacon, stop sign, yield sign or traffic-control signal located at the side of a street or roadway;
   (E)   Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction, when the stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic;
   (F)   On either side of any street approaching a grade crossing within 50 feet of the closest rail; provided that, where existing permanent structures are located along the street and closer than 50 feet, parking may be permitted in front of the structures, unless otherwise prohibited, if the parking does not interfere with the view in either direction of an approaching locomotive or train, and provided the parking does not interfere with the view of the railroad track pavement markings;
   (G)   Within 50 feet in either direction from any bridge or other elevated structure or any underpass structure;
   (H)   Within 15 feet in either direction of the entrance to a hotel, theater, hospital, sanitorium or any public building;
   (I)   On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped, standing or parked at the edge or curb of a street;
   (J)   In front of or within ten feet of any private driveway;

   (K)   There shall be no vehicular traffic upon the paved pathways restricted to pedestrian use at Deal Street Park, the Community Center, Davidson Park or at the area designated as the walking tract adjacent to the Community Center facility; unless it shall be vehicles being used for the maintenance of the parks and recreation facilities; permitted concession vendor vehicles; and any emergency equipment and vehicles as needed. In the areas designated for parking and in which parking is allowed at the Community Center, Deal Street Park, Davidson Park, and at the area designated and used as a walking tract adjacent to the Community Center facility, there shall be no parking of any commercial motor vehicles as defined in G.S. § 20-4.01(3)(d), unless the vehicle is a vehicle designed to transport passengers. Signs shall be posted conspicuously indicating the parking restrictions as are contained herein;
   (L)   There shall be no parking from the intersection of Phifer Road on Fulton Drive, 150 feet towards Lee Street, on both sides of the road;
   (M)   There shall be no parking on the south side of Elm Street, between S. Cansler Street and S. Railroad Avenue;
   (N)   There shall be no parking on Guyton Loop and Cranford Drive;
   (O)   There shall be no parking on Ellison Street; and
   (P)   There shall be no parking on South Cherokee Street between Kings Mountain Police Department and West Mountain Street.
