(A) Notice. After any vehicle has been left parked or stored on a public street or alley within the city continuously for more than 48 hours, or otherwise in violation of the provisions of this chapter, the Police Department shall place a notice on the vehicle that if it is not moved off the street or alley within a period of 48 hours from the time the notice is placed thereon, the vehicle shall be towed off the street or alley under the direction of the Police Department.
(B) Impoundment.
(1) Any vehicle parked, left or stored on a public street for more than 48 hours and after notice has been given as above provided, the vehicle shall be towed off the street under the direction of the Police Department and stored in a suitable place.
(2) In addition to any penalty or fine which may be imposed for the violation, the owner shall be required to pay the wrecker or towing costs and the storage costs.
