§ 71.01 DESIGNATION OF TRAFFIC ZONES, THROUGH STREETS AND THE LIKE; ERECTION AND INSTALLATION OF DEVICES.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall have the power to designate, lay off and indicate, with the approval of the governing body, by appropriate signs and markings: parking spaces and zones, no parking zones, limited parking zones, zones in which vehicles shall be parked at an angle to the curb, loading zones, safety zones, school zones, hospital zones, quiet zones, traffic zones other than the above, speed limits, truck routes, through streets, stop streets and intersections, yield right-of-way intersections, one-way streets, streets to be laned for traffic, play streets, bus stops and taxicab stands. The Chief shall also have the power to designate and indicate, with the approval of the governing body, intersections at which traffic shall be controlled by traffic signals, intersections at which left turns and/or right turns and “U” turns shall be prohibited, and intersections at which markers, buttons or other indications shall be placed to indicate the course to be traveled by vehicles traversing or turning at the intersections.
   (B)   Whenever any designation is made in accord with this section, the Chief of Police shall erect and install signs, markings, lines, signals and other traffic-control devices as may be necessary to clearly indicate the designation and to put drivers of vehicles on notice of the restriction, limitation or prohibition resulting from the designation.
   (C)   Additions and amendments:
      (1)   Remove loading zone in front of 233 S. Battleground Avenue and add a loading zone in front of 205 S. Battleground Avenue for the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
      (2)   To add a Stop sign and speed table on Fairview Street.
      (3)   To make the intersections of Woodside Drive and Katherine Avenue four-way stop intersections.
      (4)   To make the intersections of E. Mountain Street and S. Piedmont Avenue four-way stop intersections.
      (5)   To add a crosswalk at the Ervin Clinic on West Mountain Street.
      (6)   Addition of a crosswalk and three-way stop sign at the corner of Park Dr. and Ramseur St.
      (7)   Addition of a crosswalk and three-way stop sign at the corner of McGinnis St. and Ramseur St.
