(A) In order to use the numerical standards established by the State of Michigan as part of its General Election Law for nominating petitions for nonpartisan office, the Village of Kingsley hereby adopts this section in accordance with Chapter III, § I of the General Law Charter, and as authorized by state statute, as follows.
(B) The number of signatures required for the village office of either President or Trustee shall be as set forth in the General Election Law of the State of Michigan, M.C.L.A. §§ 168.1 to 168.992, as may from time to time be modified in accordance with the most recent federal census.
