§ 15-305 DISCONNECTION; RECONNECTION CHARGE.
   (a)   Whenever the city receives a request for termination of electricity service or temporary cessation of electricity service, no matter the duration of the cessation or the reason for the cessation, a service disconnection fee of $30, plus any electricity usage, shall be charged. This disconnection fee and any electricity usage prior to disconnection shall be added to the customer’s next or final bill, whichever is applicable, or billed to the individual who requested the disconnection of services. Any service disconnected for nonpayment of a delinquent bill shall be reconnected only upon payment of the delinquent bill, interest penalty thereon, and a reconnection charge of $50.
   (b)   Unless in connection with an acquired electrical wiring permit issued by the city with proof of such permit, whenever the city receives a request to reconnect electricity service after a termination of service or to reconnect electricity service after a temporary cessation of service, a service reconnection fee of $30 shall be charged and added to the customer’s next bill or billed to the individual who requested the reconnection of electricity service. This reconnection fee shall be charged no matter the duration of the reconnection of service or the reason for the reconnection of service.
   (c)   In the instances of temporary cessations and temporary reconnections of electricity service not in connection with an electrical wiring permit, the City Clerk is authorized to require the disconnection and reconnection fees to be paid in advance before electricity service is disconnected or reconnected with usage to be billed in the regular course of electricity billing to the party requesting the action.
