§ 14-302 FORTY-EIGHT HOUR PARKING ON STREETS.
   It is unlawful to park, locate or leave standing any vehicle, no matter how propelled, or any article or thing constituting an obstruction at any place in any street, avenue, alley, public way or in an part or on other city property within the city for a period of time exceeding 48 hours. In the event any such vehicle or article shall be so parked or left standing in excess of the period of time, the city, by its Street Department or other agency, may remove the vehicle or article and place the same in storage or upon city property or property under the control of the city; and retain possession of and control over the same and charge a reasonable amount as compensation for such removal, storage and safe thereof, if sale becomes necessary; and withhold surrender of such vehicle or article until and unless such charges are paid, and in the event such charges are not paid and possession restored to the owner, or person entitled thereto, for a period of six months, the city shall be authorized to sell the vehicle or other article under the provisions of K.S.A. § 58-208 or amendment thereto. In the event such vehicle or article shall be moved temporarily, but shall be reparked or again left in a prohibited location as provided for in this section, the period of time during which the same was moved shall not be excluded from the period of 48 hours.
