A. Purpose: The purpose of the tree board is to study and advise the city government and its employees on the establishment of policies, regulations, and standards necessary to ensure that the city will continue to realize the benefits of its urban forest.
B. Goals: Goals of the tree board are as follows:
1. Study and recommend plans leading to appropriate sustainable tree cover on public and private lands in the city.
2. Study and recommend practices to maintain city trees in a healthy and nonhazardous condition through good arboricultural practices.
3. Study and recommend an appropriate diversity in tree species and age classes to provide a stable sustainable urban forest. (Ord. 887, 12-8-2003; amd. 2013 Code)
