No person may be appointed to or removed from office or in any way favored or discriminated against with respect to a city position because of his race, color, sex, creed, religion, national origin or, unless otherwise contrary to law, because of his political opinions or affiliations. Alaska Statutes Title 18.80 is applicable beyond the scope of this ordinance. The council is prohibited from using city funds in any transaction with any person at any time who discriminates against another because of race, color, sex, creed, religion, or national origin.
