§ 51.40 REDEVELOPMENT DISCONNECTION FEE.
   (A)   A redevelopment disconnection fee for water service is established that shall be applicable only to bona fide redevelopment, construction or reconstruction applicants based on structural improvements which include demolition, significant reconstruction or preconstruction periods requiring suspension of occupancy and water use to existing accounts.
      (1)   Current water service accounts are authorized, upon notification and approval of the Utilities Division, to temporarily discontinue water use and minimum payments for a period not to exceed eight quarters, nonrenewable, upon payment of a nonrefundable redevelopment disconnection fee in an amount equal to the current annual minimum for that service (as on file in the office of the Town Clerk) and upon payment of current billing.
      (2)   Service may be restored upon notification to the Utilities Division and payment of the then current tap on fees and surety deposit (as on file in the office of the Town Clerk) if not previously paid.
   (B)   A natural disaster and multihazard disconnection fee for water service is established that shall be applicable only to applicants based on structural damage caused or created by natural disaster or other multihazard requiring improvements which include demolition, significant reconstruction or preconstruction periods requiring suspension of occupancy and water use to existing accounts.
      (1)   Current water service accounts damaged by natural disaster or other multihazard, upon notification and approval of the Utilities Division, are authorized to temporarily discontinue water use and quarterly minimum payments for two quarters, upon payment of current billing. Minimum quarterly payments may be discontinued upon payment of a nonrenewable, nonrefundable hazard disconnection fee in an amount equal to the current annual minimum for that service (as on file in the office of the Town Clerk) for a period not to exceed eight quarters, upon notification and approval of the Utilities Division.
       (2)   Service may be restored upon notification to the Utilities Division and payment of the then current tapping fees and surety deposit (as on file in the office of the Town Clerk) if not previously paid.
