A. Appointment, Term: The chief of police shall be appointed by the village president, with the advice and consent of the board of trustees, and shall serve at the discretion and pleasure of the village president.
B. Rank: The chief of police shall be the head of the department, and have supervision over all officers and members thereof.
C. Residency Exemption: The chief of police need not be a resident of the village.
D. Duties: The duties of the chief of police are set forth in the police department rules and regulations of the village, as adopted and approved by this chapter, and as may be amended from time to time. (Ord. 90-O-558, 12-3-1990)
