For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context indicates or requires a different meaning.
FIREARM. Any rifle, pistol or shotgun capable of firing a projectile by means of an explosion.
LOADED FIREARM. Any firearm containing a chemical substance capable of exploding within the firearm, whether or not a projectile is discharged thereby.
PUBLIC PLACE. Any place whether within or without a building, commonly and customarily open to and used by the general public and any street or highway.
