§ 30.01 GENERAL PROVISIONS.
   (A)   The Board of Trustees shall consist of 5 members which shall be elected to office for one 3-year term and one for a one-year term according to the method provided by the statues of the State of South Dakota.
   (B)   The Board shall be the legislative department of the town government, and shall perform the duties and have the powers as may be delegated by statute.
   (C)   The 2 new Board of Trustee positions created by virtue of the ordinance enacted June 20, 20012, shall be staggered, with one position being elected to an initial term of 3 years and the other position being selected for an initial term of one year and 3 years thereafter.

§ 30.02 TRUSTEES TO QUALIFY FOR OFFICE.
   The members of the Board of Trustees shall qualify and take the oath of office prescribed by statute, and shall receive the compensations as may be provided by ordinance.

§ 30.03 ELECTION OF PRESIDENT OF BOARD.
   At the first regular meeting following each election of Trustees, the Trustees must elect 1 of their members to serve as President of the Board for a term of 1 year.
