Where no special hazards exist, all two-axle trucks, three-axle trucks and tractor-trailer units entering the town destined to any point outside the town, and not taking on or discharging any goods, wares or merchandise with the town limits or stopping for fuel, shall travel exclusively on truck routes established in § 34-39 of this chapter and on the parts of such truck routes as shall constitute the shortest and most direct route from the point of entrance into the town and departure from the town.
