§ 2-34 MAYOR PRO TEMPORE.
   (A)   Election; term. Immediately after any general election of the Council, the Council shall elect from its membership a Mayor Pro Tempore for a term of not more than two years.
   (B)   Duties. He or she shall act as the Mayor during the absence or disability of the Mayor.
   (C)   Serve as Mayor during vacancies. In case of a vacancy in the office of Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tempore shall serve until a successor is elected.
