From and after the effective date, the county has the authority to verify, audit, inspect, review, and copy the accounts, books, receipts and other papers of all retailers with operations in the county for the purpose of ascertaining that all proper amounts have been collected as required by this chapter and that any exemptions pursuant to § 112.04 were properly allowed.
