249.45 UNPAID LEAVES.

(a) The Safety-Service Director may approve unpaid leaves for any reasonable purpose, including, but not limited to, medical, military or maternity. The Safety-Service Director shall administer such unpaid leaves along the precedents set down in the various contracts with employee labor organizations.

(b) Employees shall be granted a leave of absence with pay any time they are required to appear before any authorized board or commission of the State, County or local government.
