249.40 FUNERAL LEAVE.
   (a)   In the event of death of an employee’s father, mother, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent, aunt, uncle, spouse’s grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, or a person standing in place of the employee’s or spouse’s parent, an employee shall be granted three days paid leave of absence to make household adjustment, arrange for a funeral service or attend funeral services. If the death or funeral of a member of the family listed above occurs outside the State, a paid leave of absence up to five work days shall be permitted with the two additional days being charged to the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
   (b)   If a funeral leave is taken for the death of someone other than those listed above, a one-day leave will be granted and charged against the employee’s sick leave.
