249.24 TARDINESS; ABSENCE FROM WORK.
Whenever any employee fails to report an anticipated tardiness or absence from work at least one hour before the start of his or her shift, the appointing authority may, at his or her discretion, deny pay for the period of tardiness or absence. If the appointing authority is of the opinion that the report of such tardiness was unavoidable and that the employee did actually report his or her intentions to be late or absent at the earliest possible time, no penalty shall be imposed.
