636.21 CURFEW.
   (a)   No minor under the age of eighteen, unless accompanied by one or more of his or her parents, by his or her guardian or by another person having the legal custody of such minor, shall be in or upon a street, highway, road, sidewalk, alley, park, schoolground, playground, public building, business establishment, place of amusement or entertainment, parking lot, vacant lot or other similar place, whether public or private property, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the next day, Sunday through Thursday, or between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the next day, Friday and Saturday. However, a minor under the age of eighteen, who attends a scheduled public school or church function that does not terminate until after 10:00 p.m. (11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday), or whose employment requires him or her to work later than 10:00 p.m. (11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday), shall be permitted to return home without being in violation of this section, provided that he or she does so by the most direct route immediately upon the termination of said event or the conclusion of said employment.
   (b)   Any minor under the age of eighteen who violates this section shall be charged in the Juvenile Division, Court of Common Pleas, Hardin County, Ohio, as an unruly child, as defined in Ohio R.C. 2151.022(G).
   (c)   No parent, guardian or other adult person having the legal custody of a minor under the age of eighteen shall knowingly permit such minor to be in or upon a street, highway, road, sidewalk, alley, park, schoolground, playground, public building, business establishment, place of amusement or entertainment, parking lot, vacant lot or other similar place, whether public or private property, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the next day, Sunday through Thursday, or between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the next day, Friday and Saturday in violation of subsection (a) hereof. Any parent, guardian or other adult person having the legal custody of such minor, who violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
