The City is concerned with the effects that drug abuse can have on employees, their families and the employees' ability to perform their work safely and efficiently. The City furthermore believes that it is important, as a public entity, that it serve as a leader in the community in the war against drugs by establishing a policy prohibiting the manufacture, distribution, dispersal, possession or use of controlled substances in the workplace. The following policy is designed to meet the above objectives and to comply with the provisions of the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
