1060.06 RATES (FEES).
   Effective July 1, 2023 and until further passage of amendment to the rates set forth in this section, the fee for collection, removal and disposal of residential solid waste and recyclables shall be a monthly charge as follows:
   (a)   Senior Citizen Rate. Weekly sixty-five-gallon refuse cart with one bulk item per week, with every-other-week sixty-five-gallon recyclable material cart, per residential dwelling, and no additional trash bags allowed under the discounted senior citizen rate:
      (1)   Year One - July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021: $15.60
      (2)   Year Two - July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022: $15.60
      (3)   Year Three - July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023: $16.06
      (4)   Year Four - July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024: $16.03
      (5)   Year Five - July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025: $16.51
   (b)   Non-Senior Citizen Rate. Weekly ninety-six-gallon refuse cart with one bulk item per week, with every-other-week sixty-five-gallon recyclable material cart, per residential dwelling, and up to three additional thirty-gallon bags of trash beside the refuse cart not to exceed forty pounds per bag:
      (1)   Year One - July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021: $19.20
      (2)   Year Two - July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022: $19.20
      (3)   Year Three - July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023: $19.78
      (4)   Year Four - July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024: $19.88
      (5)   Year Five - July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025: $20.50
   For purposes of this section, the senior citizen rate shall be available to any requesting residential unit that has a residential user of age sixty-five years or older; provided, however, that the senior citizen rate shall only be available if such residential user of age sixty- five years or older (i) lives alone, (ii) lives with a spouse, or (iii) lives with one other live-in occupant in the same residential unit. If such residential unit also has other family members of the senior citizen or more than one live-in occupant, such residential unit shall not be eligible for the senior citizen rate under this section and the non-senior citizen rate shall apply. Any residential unit desiring to apply for the senior citizen rate shall apply for such at the City of Kenton Water Office.
