149.02 FURNISHING CERTIFICATE ON REQUEST REQUIRED.
   After appointment to employment or membership as required in Section 149.01, if it appears to the appointing authority that the employee or member may be physically or mentally unable to continue to perform the required duties, then the appointing authority shall, within thirty days after such discovery, require a physician's certificate acceptable to the appointing authority stating that the employee or member is able to perform his or her required duties. The employment of any employee or member who cannot or does not furnish such certificate shall be terminated as of the last day of the month in which such failure occurs.
