8-3-5: CONTAINERS:
   A.   Separate Container For Recyclables: If mandated by a resolution of the City Council, recyclables shall be placed in a separate container provided by the City or its contractor. Such container shall remain the property of the provider and shall be used only for the storage and collection of recyclable materials. (Ord. 2003-8, 12-8-2003, eff. 1-1-2004)
   B.   Specifications; Use Of City Containers: Refuse shall be placed in ninety five (95) gallon (totes) cans, or thirty two (32) gallon bags or thirty two (32) gallon cans of a type approved by the City. No such container shall weigh more than fifty (50) pounds, including contents. Provided, however, that ninety five (95) gallon totes which can be mechanically picked up by the City's contractor shall be subject to a five hundred (500) pound weight limit. Any refuse container provided by the City or its contractor shall remain the property of the City or its contractor, as the case may be, and be used only for storage and collection of refuse accumulated on the residential property for which it was provided.
   C.   Placement Of Ashes: Ashes may be placed in the same container as other materials unless prohibited by future resolution of the City Council.
   D.   Placement For Collection: Refuse containers shall be placed for collection in the street or alley right-of-way at ground level and not more than ten feet (10') from the side of the traveled surface of the street or alley from which collection is made. No containers shall be placed upon the traveled surface of the street or alley at any time. (Ord. 2003-8, 12-8-2003, eff. 1-1-2004; amd. 2018 Code)
