The state’s Vehicle Code, Ill. Rev. Stat., Ch. 95-1/2, § 11, entitled “Rules of the Road,” as passed, approved, and amended by the State General Assembly, is hereby adopted by the village and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the village, except for the following changes, deletions, and omissions:
(A) Omissions. Omit §§ 11-202; 11-204; 11-207; 11-208; 11-208.1; 11-208.2; 11-209; 11-209.1; 11-211; 11-302; 11-303; 11-310(f); 11-313; 11-401 to and including 11-416; 11-500(I); 11-501(c); 11-501.1, the last paragraph beginning with “notwithstanding” and ending with “appropriate”; 11-502, the last sentence beginning with “a” and ending with “offense”; 11-503; 11-504, first paragraph beginning with “any” and ending with “amended”; 11-602; 11-603; 11-604; 11-606(b); 11-608; and 11-1422.
(B) Changes and additions.
(1) Change § 11-904 to read: “Preferential right-of-way at an intersection may be indicated by stop or yield signs as authorized by this code”.
(2) Change § 11-1204(a) to read: “Preferential right-of-way at an intersection may be indicated by stop signs or yield sings as authorized by this code”.
(3) Change § 11-1416(a) to read: “Any person who shall willfully and unnecessarily attempt to delay, hinder, or obstruct any other person in lawfully driving and traveling upon or along any highway within this state or who shall offer for barter or sale merchandise on said highway so as to interfere with the effective movement of traffic shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a violation of this code”.
